Ehrlich Layton International, in essence, is the combination of experience of Lester Ehrlich and Steve Layton. The relationship between the two directors began in 1980 as fellow students and colleagues at the Queensland Institute of Technology, studying for Bachelor of Architecture. Achieving their degrees in Architecture as part time working/study (after studies in drafting and graphics), the two directors offer 20 years experience each in the construction industry.
Steve Layton was formerly director for Asia of one of Queensland's largest architectural companies. Practicing for over 10 years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Steve built a successful practice with experience in high-rise apartments, office towers, retail, commercial and hotel developments, culminating in 'Building of the Year 1994'. Steve has successfully completed more than 25 high-rise buildings in that time.
Lester Ehrlich was responsible for Western Queensland as regional manager of one of Queensland's largest architectural practices. Lester's experience has been vast and diversified including high-rise apartments, commercial developments, industrial projects, projects in the aged care and medical industry, interior design services and large prestigious individual houses. Lester's experience has earned him several regional awards in architecture.
In 1996 both directors established private architectural practices within their own field. In 1998 they fulfilled their career ambition and combined their individual practices into a strong and dynamic architectural company with current projects in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Western Queensland, Malaysia, and India.
The company now employs over 15 staff under its group and is becoming a respected architectural company in South East Queensland and South East Asia.
